HELEN PARKHURST SCHOOL'S PE TEACHER COACH EDUCATION

This week seen the visit of 7 Dutch PE teachers from the Helen Parkhurst school in Almere, Holland to the Croke Park for an introduction to the GAA and Gaelic Football. I had the pleasure of delivering an introduction to Gaelic football to these very enthusiastic and experienced physical education teachers in the hope that they can bring our great game back with them and introduce it into their school PE programs. This meeting of two cultures provided a great environment for sharing ideas, coaching practices and a was thoroughly enjoyable experience for both myself and the participants. I would like to thank all our visitors and wish them a safe journey home.

ARLES KILLEEN GFC REACH KELLY CUP FINAL 2014

Contrasting emotions for Arles Killeen GFC reaching the pre-season Kelly cup competition and then suffering defeat at the hands of St. Joeseph's. The final scoreline of Arles 0-7  St. Joeseph's 3-7 tells a tale but it was a highly competitive game up until early in the second half when Joeseph's hit Killeen for a couple of goals back to back, giving them a comfortable lead to defend to then end. Well done to all involved and in particular Arles Killeen lads who have been training hard and are pleasure to work with. We will bounce back from this no doubt. Congrats to St. Joeseph's on their win.
